Dinu Patriciu Foundation – Open Horizons Scholarship – www.fundatiadinupatriciu.ro In 2010 after successfully applying to the University of Manchester, I applied and was awarded one of the 70 new Open Horizons Scholarships, offered by the Dinu Patriciu Foundation, giving me financial self-sufficiency during my studies in the United Kingdom.

Residential Tutor at The University of Manchester – http://www.accommodation.manchester.ac.uk During my postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom, I was appointed as a Residential Tutor on North Campus – Lambert & Fairfield Hall, where as a member of the Welfare Team, I was personally responsible for the wellbeing of over 60 students. Furthermore, in collaboration with the elected team of the Residents Association, we were in charge of setting the agenda of social and cultural events during the academic year and accordingly the good management of the Hall’s allocated budget.

Dorcas Aid International – The Netherlands – www.dorcas.net In 2009 I had the privilege to work as a volunteer at the headquarter of Dorcas Aid International in Andijk, The Netherlands, which is an international aid NGO, implementing relief and development projects in developing countries across Africa and Eastern Europe. During my time spent at Dorcas I gained valuable insights on how international NGO’s function and how they can contribute towards poverty eradication.
