Laparoscopic Suturing

This course is designed to offer a step-by-step learning of laparoscopic suturing for surgical specialties residents or specialists, or even veterinary doctors interested in pursuing minimally invasive interventions.
This course focuses on teaching a correct step by step technique to laparoscopic suturing form manipulating the needle, passing the needle through the tissue, correctly placing the suture points, performing continuous and interrupted sutures and knot tying, end-to end and side-to- side intestinal anastomosis on biologic ex-vivo material.
The course will be divided in two two-days modules, organized in two consecutive weekends; the first module will teach the basics of knot tying (intracorporeal and extracorporeal technique) and suturing (interrupted and continuous sutures), while the second module moves on to practical applications of suturing, simulating intraoperative conditions on biological material.
